Roulette is a casino game named after the French word meaning little wheel. It is played on a wheel that consists of numbered slots that range from 1 to 36, as well as 0 (and sometimes 00). To play, players bet on where they think the ball will land after the wheel is spun. Bets can be placed on individual numbers, ranges of numbers, colors (red or black), odd or even numbers, and more. To begin each round, players place their chips on the numbered layout to indicate their bets. The dealer then spins the wheel and rolls a small ball in the opposite direction. As the wheel slows down, the ball will come to rest in one of the numbered slots. If the bet is matched to where the ball lands, the player wins.
